Mini-Course : Hidden Hurdles to Health

Don’t Let Chronic Symptoms Run Your Life

  • Why addressing digestive health is key to everything, from losing weight to balancing hormones (and why the most commonly prescribed medication for improving digestion causes more harm than good)
  • What is the Real Root Cause of IBS and digestive discomfort (hint, it is not something you are born with or inherited, and you should not be suffering for the rest of your life)
  • What are necessary blood tests that every woman needs (and why you can’t get them through your regular doctor)

Aira Mahandru

Aira worked in the business, fashion and legal sectors for more than 10 years when her health suddenly deteriorated. Looking back, the signs were there. She just ignored them. She was tired, unhappy, overworked and stressed out. She was still young so she felt she could just push through. Until one day she could no longer get out of bed.

Her hair was falling out. Her stomach became swollen and bloated. She had lost her appetite. All she wanted to do was sleep all day long.

She started looking for answers and found a nutritional therapist to work with. Together they did a stool test and adrenal test. It turned out that her adrenals were ‘flat’. She also carried a gut infection. The symptoms became more and more severe as her health deteriorated.

With the help of the nutritional therapist she slowly put her health back together. She changed her diet. She took some herbs and supplements. She made sure she slept every day, not only on weekends.

Very soon it became clear to her that she could no longer carry on working in the City. Her job was fairly well paid, respected and secure. But it came at a price. It was not uncommon for her to come back home from work at night or even in the early hours of the morning, sleep 4-5 hours and go back to work for another 18-hour shift.

Working with a nutritional therapist left such an imprint on Aira that she decided to leave her well paid secure job and qualify as a nutritional therapist and a naturopath. Fast forward to today, and she is now one of a handful of fully certified Functional Medicine practitioners in the UK.
